THE MESSENGER FALCON came for Garren one afternoon, around a month into her stay back home. A call for clairvoyants and combat-oriented adventurers to aid in fending off a false dragon rampage far south of the sacred forest. Lishe’s chest ached at the thought of having to part with Garren for who knows how long again, but she would come back home safe—Lishe was sure of that. Garren was the strongest adventurer, after all. And so all she needed was a fervent goodbye-for-now kiss as she stood at the front door with her travel pack.

“I’ll see you in a little while, Lishe.”

Lishe grinned the widest she could. “I love you. Remember that every day, even if you’re far away.” She then turned around and sought Ines, who stood not too far behind with her arms crossed in a sulk.

“Just so you know, I still haven’t given up on keeping Lishe all to myself.” Ines furrowed her brows, averting her eyes. “If you don’t want to lose her to me, better come back here alive in a month or so, got it?”

Garren cackled, walking past Lishe to give Ines a few hearty pats on the back. “I won’t be around for a while to help you crank out sustenance from this bitch, so do your best feeding off her alone, will you?”

Ines’ cheeks flared red at that, even more so when Garren gave her pats on the head too. “How dare you patronize me like this, human! Need I remind you that I am far older than—”

“Got it, granny. I’ll be off, so keep my woman company in the meantime. I’m counting on you.”

And just like that, Garren waved them both off and disappeared into the thick of the forest. It was a sunny day back then—Lishe had already been sweating long before noon, even if all she wore at the moment was that skimpy apron. She was itching for a cold wash right then, but the moment the familiar feel of a succubus tail coiled around her left knee and up her thighs, she knew she wouldn’t have the chance for that until far later into the afternoon.

Lishe chuckled as she was pushed onto the floor where she stood with the door wide open right beside her. “Not even carrying me to the bed or at least the table?” she asked, splaying her legs open, feeling a viscous droplet trickle down her underside as Ines crawled between them. “You’ve really gotten lax with table manners recently, huh?”

“You have that human to thank for that.” Ines didn’t wait before stooping down to leave hungry kisses on Lishe’s jaw down to her chest. But then, just as Ines was about to undo the apron’s ribbon behind Lishe’s nape, a set of approaching trudges across the loam around the corner interrupted them.

“Help . . . me. . . .”
